This sermon from 1954 came through one of my news feeds today. It is
a powerful reminder of how Christ should be in our lives. He keeps
us focused on things of Him, of our future, of the age to come, and
not on the sin and sin's effects upon this world leading us to despair
in our lives down here in this world.

This world is only for a time. There is real hope for all mankind:

Here's your real hope:

The only bigger frauds than billy graham were peter popov and
jim bakker & tammy faye.

BG was in it only for the money (he was worth $25,000,000 at the end).

Billy Graham is still alive.

In that audio, listen and see if you can hear Billy Graham advocating
himself, or any other man, or if he repeatedly says, "Our only hope is
Christ"?

You'll find that all preachers, including myself, point to Jesus, and
not to us.

Jesus is our hope, Scott. Not man, nor any man, nor any group of men.
It is Christ, and Christ alone.

Look to Him, and see if you can find fault in Him. You will be un-
able because of who He is.

If you ever become a Christian you'll find that the enemy doesn't just
sit back idly by and say, "Okay, well, there's one that was saved. I'll
just leave him/her alone from now on."

When you stand up for God, a bullseye is painted on your back. Every
evil spirit in this world comes at you. And if you have a powerful
ministry that is affecting lives, the evil spirits come at you with
guns-a-blazin', from all sides, in coordinated attacks.

If they can discredit someone of high regard in the faith, then it
gives them ammunition. It makes it very easy for someone to come
along and give a moment's glance in the direction of the ministry,
see something negative (or simply negatively reported on), and conclude
in summary that such evil, wicked behavior is not for them, and then
they walk away concluding that's all Christ is: a fraud.

It's not really like that. And for those who look beyond the outter
appearance, and peer into the back rooms of the underlying truth,
they will find the truth, they will see past the discredit attempts,
the hate, the falseness.

-----
You're being led into falseness, and kept in falseness, Scott, because
you won't look behind the outward appearance and seek the inner truth.

Jesus Christ is not who you think He is, and He's more than you could
ever hope for. I pray you will seek Him as He is, and learn from Him
directly, rather than listening to the many detractors in this world
regarding who they say He is. They are at war with Him, so there will
be a vast smear campaign. But if you will press in and seek the truth,
then you too will find it.

Don't bother - people like the OP are like the Terminator: they
can't be reasoned with. They are also like pigs: they'll drag you to sink
with them deep in the stinking, wet mud, and they'll love it.

Yup. As the old saying goes "You can't reason someone out of an opinion
they didn't reason themselves into"

The truth is fundamental. It doesn't have other constituent parts.
It exists in pure form in and of itself. That's why Christians
persist.

You can test this for yourself, and see if you should ask forgiveness:

(1) Do you have sin?
(2) If God judged you by His own Laws on Judgment Day, would you survive?
(3) He sent Jesus to forgive your sin for free. Why wouldn't you accept
His offer?

Easy as 1-2-3.

I'm more of a cos() person myself.

Depends very much on the scoring scheme and threshold involved. I'm a bit
concerned, as my neighbor has some pretty cool stuff. And there are some
people I'm not overly keen on. And I do like my to express myself freely.
