One of 20 or so pieces that I composed
in the last 18 months - apologies for
betraying APL during that period of time.

Maybe a few of you listened to this piece.
But where is the math that we seem to like as APL-ers?
Dr. Marcus von Crevel, a theoretician says (and sort of proved) that Jacob
Obrecht's Missa Maria Zart (2nd half 15th century) has been built on the
Fibonacci series, and the cover of my LP-record shows the triangle with the
development of all those numbers.
Stanley Jordan (APL89 New York, New York) proved that he can make new music
with APL. He makes "clouds" of ideas of music (motives), amends and arranges
them and makes new pieces of jazz music.
Some mathematicians say (in a recent non-fiction novel) that they can compose
another Well Tempered Clavier, with the same level of Preludes & Fugues, on a
computer.

My piece was not made on a computer, but just from my "brains".
In case you want to hear the "math" in it, go to mark 11:49 thru 17:00. There's
a fugue, that's diligently composed, intellectively, no revelation what so
ever, but it sounds like passionate music.
Have an enjoyable (re-) listen!

In the Sleevenote of the LP*), the conductor of the performing ensemble,
Miroslav Venhoda, says: [...]Thus with Obrecht the first thing is number,
arithmetical and geometrical series, the golden section, the symbolics of
figures and names.
Everything is prepared in advance, calculated and drawn up in detail in all
dimensions, the length of the development and the moment of completion of
each musical thought is established beforehand; [...]

Here is that wonderful triangle:

(I thought after 5 days of no traffic on cla, a little entertaining detour
might not hurt)

Thanks for your appreciated attention!
