Our client is a proprietary off-floor equity options trading firm located in Chicago, Illinois, is currently recruiting for the role of Director of Information Technology Infrastructure. We are a rapidly growing, fast paced firm whose employees thrive in our intense, team based environment.
Job Description:
You will help define and implement the firm*s IT strategy. The focus will be on building infrastructure to support a fast growth business and the expansion of the firm*s trading to additional markets and exchanges. Your time will be divided between IT planning and the technical support of research, software development and operations systems.
You will be responsible for leading the design, implementation and maintenance of the company's network, operating systems, market connectivity, database systems, and security. You will be responsible for managing the delivery, stability, and performance of the firm's technology infrastructure, administration, and operations. Over time, you will build a team, comprised both of internal employees and outside consultants in order to support fully our trading and analysis operations. You will manage the evaluation, recommendation, acquisition, and integration of hardware, enterprise-level software, and market data on both client and server side; you will manage the ongoing relationships with these third-party vendors.
You will work closely with the firm's Trading, Analysis, Trade Support, and Software Development teams.
Qualifications:
At least six years experience in each of the following is a requirement for applying:
Current or prior background within an established hedge fund or proprietary trading firm.
Key Microsoft Enterprise technologies, including Windows system administration, Active Directory administration, Exchange Server, SQL Server and IIS
IP networking, including deep understanding and technical knowledge of subjects such as DNS, DHCP, routing, switching, remote access technologies, and firewall configuration
Additionally, knowledge of the following areas will be advantageous:
Financial networks, real-time market data feeds and latency issues
Cisco router and firewall skills
Power delivery and redundancy design for high-availability data centers
Enterprise-wide monitoring and troubleshooting, using technologies such as Microsoft Operations Manager or HP OpenView
The successful candidate will also demonstrate significant experience in the following areas:
Effective management skills - of yourself as well as others
Strong strategic planning and project management
Remote Access Technologies
Ability to communicate emerging technology issues and applications to the business at all levels
Effective implementation and monitoring of change management procedures
Excellent documentation and communication skills
