Our huge Financial client seeks a DB2 DBA on a long term consulting basis.
Rate Card Class Description: Analyzes, develops, tests and implements database designs in support of corporate and client area technology requirements. Performs data modeling, logical and physical database design. Includes
maintenance of database dictionaries, monitoring of standards and procedures, access methods and time, validation checks, organization and statistical methods. Responsible for data loading, security, performance monitoring and
tuning, capacity planning, and backup and recovery. Executes database software installation, database creations/configurations and loads.
Rate Card Level Description: This resource type provides analytical, technical, business and management expertise to the group and completes assignments which require this expertise. The resource may be required to lead teams of up to 10 professionals or operations personnel. This resource will respond and resolve issues beyond standard management requests as well as using independent judgment to make decisions where no clear precedents exist.
This level should typically be used for a senior or lead level resource.
Position Description: Summary:
As a DB2 database administrator, you will be responsible for building and validating DB2 databases for multiple application development teams. You will be required to work very closely with systems resources (i.e. CICS and MQ) and application development resources (i.e. developers and testers), and track and report status and progress at a detailed level.
Qualifications:
Expertise in logical and physical database design Expertise in performance monitoring and tuning
Expertise in developing and maintaining DB2 databases including backup/recovery procedures Expertise with DB2 tools and utilities, including setup of Endevor processes (compiles and binds) 5+ years as a DB2 database
Administrator Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail
Required Skills:
Ranking Skill Name Experience

Additional Position Requirements: Working knowledge of CICS, MQ and Change Control.
