Skills: REQUIREMENTS:
Masters/Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering
with 4+ years experience
Ability to debug hardware issues using debuggers,
oscilloscopes, in-circuit emulators, etc. Also, ability to
identify requirements for and spec new lab equipment.
Experience in RF hardware necessary.
Experience working with customers directly and therefore
good verbal and written communication skills.
Experience with schematic capture programs and familiarity
with PCB layout software.
Knowledge of proper RF PCB layout principles for signal
integrity and ESD, EMI, and other typical regulatory
compliance. Experience with the proper board layout
techniques for mixing radio and digital ICs would be a plus.
Rudimentary software/firmware skills would be a plus.
Willingness to perform limited domestic and international
travel.
Is this position is related to consumer audio, experience
with high-volume, low-cost board-level solutions aimed at
the consumer market would be a plus.
Scope: DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Act as technical customer support for RF/radio portion of
MP3 player solutions. This will include resolving customer
issues, reviewing customer schematics and layouts, and
providing technical documentation, reference schematics, and
application notes.
Interface to and coordinate with the applications team for
the MP3 product group. This engineer will be required to
ensure that his portion of the solution integrates in
cleanly with the overall MP3 applications effort.
Design and support hardware platforms for internal and
external firmware development and evaluation. As well, this
engineer may be called upon to provide hardware board-level
design and support for silicon development/bring-up.
Develop, coordinate and provide periodic technical training
sessions to customers and distributor field application
engineers. (This activity includes providing interpretations
and clarifications of our product specifications and design
kits.)
This engineer will have the opportunity to serve as eyes and
ears to the customer’s attempts at using our product
and, based on that, will be expected to feedback areas for
improvement for successive products and product revisions.
