3+yrs exp with Unix Operating System (Sun Solaris)
1+yrs exp with IBM WebSphere Application Server (WAS),
WebSphere Portal Server
1+yrs exp programming using IBM WebSphere Application Studio
Developer
6Ms exp with XML
4+yrs exp with all phases of application design,
development, implementation, and maintenance.
Excellent communication skills, written and oral, with
people of all technical levels.
Ability to multitask and meet aggressive deadlines.
Exp using WebSphere to develop and manage JAVA applications
to enable interactions with enterprise databases,
transaction processing systems, and other applications.
Exp working in a 24x7 production environment helpful but not
required.
Ability to analyze procedures and application structure to
maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
Exp formulating problem identification and development and
eployment of optimum solutions.
Requires skills to address hardware failure, network
connectivity/ congestion, heap size utilization, JVM garbage
collection, adequate resource availability, (I/O, disk,
memory), and response time problems.
Requires understanding of WebSphere Deployment Manager, UNIX
scripts, JAVA, J2EE, JAVA Applets, JAVA Server Pages, Web
Servers, Application Servers / JAVA Servers (WebSphere) FTP,
SQL.
Requires skills to address CPU utilization, Servlets,
Enterprise Java Beans, GC Heap, Threads, Network sockets,
Extensible Markup Language (XML), Java Naming and Directory
Interface (JNDI), User Datagram Protocol (UDP), Common
Object Request Broker (CORBA), Connection Pooling. Java
Server Pages, Thrown and Caught Exceptions, Running
Processes, Java Database Connectivity (JDBC), Remote Method
Invocation (RMI), File Systems, Java Transaction API (JTA),
Java Message Service (JMS), System Logs.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with IBM DB2.
Experience developing Java Servlets, Java JSP, and Java
JDBC.
Experience developing Web sites using Java Server Pages.
Experience with IBM OS/390 mainframe operating system.
Scope: Performs highly advanced work in WebSphere application
development, systems design, systems analysis, in a
multi-dimensional environment. Performs administrative and
monitoring tasks related to the support of WebSphere
Application Servers (WAS), including installing the
software, configuring, tuning, backup and recovery. Develops
and maintains routines needed to automate tasks related to
WAS maintenance. Works closely with Configuration
Management, Systems Development team, and architects to
ensure operational consistency crossing all WebSphere
platforms and implementations.
