COMMENTS: Lancaster Systems, Inc., a full-service Information
Systems Consulting firm, is currently searching for
UNIX Systems Administrators to work on a 3-12 month
project for our client, located in Jersey City, NJ.
Required skills include a minimum of 2 years
experience with HP9000 Systems Administration,
experience with UNIX System evaluation, performance
testing, on-line transaction processing applications
with embedded SQL and a relational database management
system like Ingres or Oracle. Additional
qualifications include a technical background in data
communications and a variety of related technologies
including: distributed processing environments, high
availability systems that incorporate redundant
hardware and software components, telecommunications,
acceptance testing, application software controls,
UNIX computer system security, and RDBMS maintenance
and report generation.
The position involves the assumption of
responsibilities related to the system administration
of a system which includes dual HP9000 series
computers serving as central controllers for an
on-line transaction processing and revenue collection
system.
The major activities to be performed by the consultant
are described as: Systems Operations, including,
system monitoring, operational requests, system
back-ups, fault detection and correction, and report
generation; Management of Hardware and Software
Service Providers; Management Administration,
including testing new hardware/software configuration
and proposing/evaluating options; and System
Documentation.
Experienced candidates only with a minimum of four
years of non-academic professional experience.
