COMMENTS: Project Description: Design and build a custom
network monitoring
solution that will gather status of various network
systems (e.g. - mail
servers, application servers, etc.) periodically and
report status (e.g.
- "red" light, "yellow" light, "green" light) as
appropriate via a web
based interface.
Candidate Requirements: The candidate must have the
development skills
and the communication skills (both oral and written)
to facilitate the
capture of final requirements, design the solution and
system
architecture, and develop the necessary code as
required. The technical
skills required include C, C++, and Java as
programming languages, NT
and Unix server operating system environments, TCP/IP
networking
services, and web technologies (http server and html
scripting
knowledge).
The candidate will work closely with the project
manager to refine
requirements and the design specification, but will be
required to
develop the solution as required with minor
supervision. The ability to
interact with client personnel is critical.
