Rate Card Class Description:
Responsible for the engineering planning, design, implementation, and operation of Unix and Windows Midrange computing platforms for n-Tier application architectures. Responsibilities include research and development of new technology and engineering best practices, as well as the implementation of complex and comprehensive solutions for enterprise and Line of Business applications.
Rate Card Level Description: This resource type demonstrates in-depth technical knowledge specifically related to competitiveness and success of assigned business unit as well as making decisions requiring creative and innovative approaches. This resource manages a diverse and complex suite of projects simultaneously. Typically advisory level resources are considered to be reputed masters of their craft.
Position Description:
Sr. Linux / Solaris Systems Administrator with a total of 10 years experience. Solaris 2.8 & Red Hat Linux v3 experience in installing Database's such as Oracle 9i RAC & 10g, E-commerce applications such as Iplanet, Weblogic, WebSphere, Java etc. The systems administrator will build and maintain Linux Servers to provide optimum performance and system availability.
Responsibilities include:
Integrating Linux servers into an enterprise environment including monitoring, backup, and scheduling, overseeing remote sites on Linux issues, and defining and maintaining Linux kickstart and satellite server environments. Specific tools include Tivoli for monitoring, and Veritas NetBackup. The Linux SA will develop required scripts/programs for advanced administrative tasks using shell scripting, Perl, C or equivalent. Strong documentation skills in creating installation, performance analysis, and tuning documents needed. Effectiveness at managing multiple projects in parallel desired.
Key Qualifications: A minimum of five to seven years of operational experience in medium to large environments; five to seven years of previous Unix systems administration experience (Solaris preferred), with at least three years of
Red Hat Linux system administration; Hands-on performance analysis and tuning of Linux environments
