Description: Seeking someone with C/C++ skills! Prefer 5-7 years of development experience coupled with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, MIS or equivalent. Individual will develop software by implementing requirements to solve the business needs of clients. This will entail the initial planning and developing new solutions or creating ways to use the existing system more efficiently. Background in Caché, ASP, C++, VB, and SQL coupled with Windows and VMS. Additional skills such as IIS, MTS, TCP, code management systems, and testing tools would be a plus. IMPORTANT: Must have Visual Studio C++ skills (server side) for new feature development! Caché would be a huge plus. .NET would also be a plus though not necessary.
Responsibilities as follows:
Under limited supervision, formulate and design system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify complex information systems programs.
Design and develop source code to perform the requirements of the application specifications.
Develop test data for the purpose of testing whether the program runs and whether or not it meets application design specifications.
Document, program, design, code, and maintain products in a way that allows for future changes.
Provide guidance to less experienced programmer/analysts.
Contribute to and review product documentation.
Provide after-hour support.
Demonstrate continuous learning and participate in the presentation of project and product training.
Provide internal support of products, sales, and services including the demo system.
Propose and/or implement improvements to existing products.
Contribute to the overall architecture and direction of the product.
Person must have an excellent knowledge of programming (i.e. program design, flowcharting, coding, testing, debugging, etc); an excellent technical knowledge of how the system functions to meet the requirements of an application; an excellent knowledge of how to document, program, design, code, and maintenance products; an excellent understanding of how critical project completion is to client satisfaction; an excellent knowledge of the relationship of how the software being used relates to operating systems, sub-systems, and hardware being used; a strong knowledge of how to interact with external, as well as, internal clients for the purpose of data gathering and design initiation; and an in-depth application knowledge, customization, interpersonal skills, and writing skills as well as decision-making ability and ability to be client focused.
