Description: This position is responsible for creating and enhancing client/server, PC-based, and web-based software applications. This is a full time exempt, salaried position.
Responsibilities:
· Applying logical programming solutions to business problems of moderate complexity.
· Incorporating advanced technology and coding skills to increase systems efficiency and capabilities.
· Adhering to corporate standards for source code control and development.
· Analyzing and evaluating the impact of new and reapplied technologies on existing applications.
· Providing ongoing research assistance on a wide range of technical issues.
· Writing detailed technical specifications that describe changes to programs and databases arising from software projects.
Requirements:
· A university degree in Computer Science or equivalent technical training/experience.
Visual Basic Development Position:
The ideal candidate will have VB 6 client server applications development experience, with a SQL Server backend, in a business environment.
Development experience should include ADO, GUI development, classes, collections, SQL Server stored procedures, and a fundamental understanding of object oriented programming. The candidate needs to have experience with application and database design and be comfortable working with, and obtaining requirements from end users. The position will require the type of person who can hit the ground running, dig into a task, and determine the proper course of action with little or no assistance. Oracle experience will be considered in place of experience with SQL Server. There is a very small amount, (about 5%), of web and .Net development with this position.
· Experience with the full lifecycle development process.
· Exceptional written and interpersonal communication skills.
· Must be familiar with Windows, Microsoft Office products, and Internet browsers.
