Yugoslavia: Petar Lubarda Secondary Art School
http://www.slslubarda.cg.yu/
Yugoslavia (Serbia and Montenegro)
Petar Lubarda Secondary Art School - offering instruction in the fine arts
as well as standard secondary subjects. Also in Serbian.
The year 1998 was finally marked as the third founding of the Secondary Art
School named after one of its first founder PETAR LUBARDA. He and his fellow
comarade Milo Milunovich, both painters, were used to be brave enough to
found the first Art School in Cetinje, Montenegro in 1946. It has been
renamed and relocated for several times and in the end has come to its
cradle - Cetinje, old Montenegrin capital where it belongs. In the meantime
Cetinje has become the art capital, too. Besedes 13 Embassies (from the
Kingdom times, now turned into cultural institutions or museums), Central
Library of Montenegro, The Archives, The "Zetski Dom" Theater, Monasteries,
Churches and many other monuments of Montenegrin culture, there are three
art institutions founded during the last 10-15 years: Fine Arts Academy,
Drama School and a Music Academy we are very proud of. The broader
European and especially Mediterranean cultures meet here both in the mountains
and at the Adriatic coast which is strongly expressed in Montenegrins'
predominantly South Slavs spirit - of freedom warriors and famous past.
Visitors to Montenegro will enjoy her splendours.
