Dear Colleagues,

Do you have self-motivated middle or high school students who would
like to correspond with like-minded students in the upper peninsula
of Michigan this summer (June 27 - July 10)?

Our summer workshop (called "Electronic Communication Across the
Curriculum") for students and teachers from middle and high schools
is now in its sixth year. We are seeking e-pals for middle and high
school students who are interested in learning new technologies and
applying their knowledge to the following theme: "Becoming a World
Citizen." We would like pair up our students (from June 27th - July
10th) in informal conversations. Students will be comparing and
contrasting aspects of hometowns and life experiences. Our students
will then create and share web sites reflecting life in this very
remote, rural part of the country. We hope that e-pals from around
the country and world will also create and share web materials of
their own.

If you are aware of students who might be interested please pass this
message on or send me contact information for the student or their
parents. We'll send them a more detailed description of activities
during the two week period and an email permission form.
