Is there an RFC document for the http protocol? I need to know what
goes down the TCP sessions between browser and server when various
URLs are requested, in order to write a limited server (with other
enhancements).

I believe you can find downloadable specs in various formats
(ascii, postscript, etc) at either
http://hoohoo.ncsa.uiuc.edu or http://www.w3.org -- Boy am I
getting tired of typing those same URLs again and again in
this newsgroup ;-) But I guess if people don't know about
them they keep asking. Hope this helps.
