We have developed a prototype VRML 1.0 based browser that
implements the NCSA CCI (Common client interface). So far, the
browser handles our chemistry specific VRML data, but
could easily be expanded to handle other types of data.
For further details see http://www.ch.ic.ac.uk/rzepa/CG/CG.html

We are implementing a number of chemical "scenes" with
embedded URL references which can be expanded using
NCSA Mosaic V2.5b4 as appropriate. These will accumulate in
http://www.ch.ic.ac.uk/VRML/

We will be presenting this at the American Chemical Society
Conference at Anaheim on April 7th.

We are interested in how the development of
three standards areas may proceed.
a) Extensions to VRML 1.0
b) Implementation of CCI or similar APIs for exchanging
molecular virtual worlds with other cross-platform VRML browsers
c) The definition of new top level and/or sub-media MIME types
for describing 3D virtual worlds.

Anyone interested, please contact Omer Casher at h...@ic.ac.uk
or Henry Rzepa, rz...@ic.ac.uk.
