Database table caching

Hi !
Can someone help me providing details on how to cache database tables.
I am writing a C/C++ code in which i need certain records from the
database tables.
Is saving entire data in the cod ememory is good or it should be cached
in the database memory.
Please let me know
this may be silly query/may not be write place where i am posting it
but i need help on this

You might get a bit further if you gave us a clue as to what database you
are using...
