How'd they do that?
We have trussed Netscape, we have duplicated the pages locally...no luck.
There is an ANIM tag in the first line. That must have something to do with it.
But What?
Thanks
The /jwz/ in the URL triggers that trick.
Ciao,

I also discovered a neat trick with the following URL
about:mozilla
to switch back go to
about:mcom

IF you will notice the 'jwz' in the path of this URL (once the animation is
done loading). These are the initials of someone at Netscape who put in this
treat. Any page loaded in 1.1N for X with this as part of the path will
change the icon. To see our friend Mozilla again goto "about:Mozilla"

No, the ANIM tag has nothing to do with it. It's the '/jwz/' in the URL
that makes the logo change. about:mozilla will produce another animation
change (one that sticks, as well).

It's very easy access the page mentioned below and look at the source.
If you tag the end of a URL with a "#/jwz/" tag the icon reverts back.

Have you really duplicated it? I don't thinks so. :-)
Had you duplicated it you would have placed in a subdirectory called jwz.
If Netscape finds the string "/jwz/" anywhere in the URL it will change
it's animation to the compass. If the URL doesn't contain said string,
then it will switch back to the original (set) animation. The <ANIM tag
is actually ignored, it is placed there to *fool* people into thinking
there is a way to change animations.
You can set Netscape's animation with the following two URLs:
about:mozilla
about:netscape
The default is the one set by "about:netscape". It will continue using
the set animation until it is either reset by the other URL or you restart
Netscape.
