restrictions on how fast newsgroups spam can be
reported without their software deciding I am a
computer program and refusing to go on.
What other browsers can you suggest that are
compatible with running both Internet Explorer 8
and Mozilla Firefox under Windows Vista?
By the way, I've found that reporting enough
spam posted through Google Groups with the
same return address actually does have an effect.
If you report it through the Google Groups
interface, with at least two return addresses of
your own, reporting in the rage of 50 spam
messages with the same return address seems
to trigger their software to shut the spammer's
Google Groups account for a while. Don't
expect much effort from the human part of
their abuse department for a few months after
you report the spam, though.
China seems to have laws offering sufficient
penalties to sending posts with an incorrect
return address that few of the spammers there
do it; many other countries don't, though.
