Does anybody have an idea how to set up proxy access in Lynx? I have
looked around the program on my isp and cannot figure how...

For recent versions, you can set environment variables, like:

export finger_proxy=http://proxy.server.name/
export ftp_proxy=http://proxy.server.name/
export gopher_proxy=http://proxy.server.name/
export http_proxy=http://proxy.server.name/
export https_proxy=http://proxy.server.name/
export news_proxy=http://proxy.server.name/
export nntp_proxy=http://proxy.server.name/
export no_proxy=comma,separated,list,of,domains,to,access,directly
export snews_proxy=http://proxy.server.name/
export wais_proxy=http://proxy.server.name/

Configure it in lynx.cfg

or

set environment variable http_proxy to point to your proxy, e.g
in c-shell

setenv http_proxy http://foo.bar.baz:3128/

whatever name and port number the proxy uses.

Use no_proxy to list the domains that should be accessed without
using the proxy,

Reading the comments in lynx.cfg is a useful source of wisdom.

The sytem-wide lynx.cfg is expected to define any required/necessary
proxies. You can define more with a personal lynx.cfg Take a look at:

http://www.crl.com/~subir/lynx/2.6/lynx.cfg

for a sample lynx.cfg you can use.

According to Subir Grewal <hostm...@trill-home.com>:

And now that Lynx 2.7 was released over the weekend, you can find the
lynx.cfg file for it at:
