I recently ran a verifier on Major http://www.nk.ca/ and in Firefox
the alignment is correct but not in IE.

In Firefox, the contect is on the right of the nav
and in the left of some anti-spam info. In IE the content is below
the nav.

Has anyone heard of this and what is the fix?

For a start you are running the browser in quirks mode where IE carefully
reproduces the bugs way back to version 5.5, especially the box model ones.

Use a full doctype including the URL to a DTD, and a strict one at that.
