howto call templates in html

hello!

i'm totally new into hyperwave and i have got the following problem:

if i get this right, i can just access objects on the hyperwave server
using either SSJS in a wavemaster template or the hwjs command line
tool.
but what if i have got an html-document which should list, let's say
the children of a certain collection.
how can i call a template (or javascript functions in a template)?

i hope somebody can help me.
