I am looking for some place to obtain the Intergraph DGN format specification.
Intergraph at Spain have not provided any answer (at least yet!). Could anybody
help?
Thanks in Advance,
Carlos Bachmaier.

Carlos,

Intergraph supports the Open GIS Initiative and the specifications
for their file formats can be found in the Intergraph Standard File
Formats manual. The press release lists David Kingsbury at
Intergraph (phone: 205-730-7917, fax: 205-730-6750) as the contact
person to request additional technical information. BTW, you may
want to also look through their mosaic homepage at:

http://www.intergraph.com/

Hope that helps.

The Intergraph DGN file format ( or element formats ) can be found in the back
of the Microstation Development and Support Guide. As sombody who has worked
with it for a long time I would recommend that you use MDL or CSL instead of
trying to parse through the files. It will save you a lot of time.

On a related matter, but not anwerings your question, does anyone have a

The actual DGN file format spec is unpublished at this time. It is
owned by Bentley Systems, and based in part on the Intergraph Standard
File Format (ISFF). The ISFF is owned by Intergaph and is published.
You can request the ISFF spec directly from Intergraph, or you can find
it on the MicroStation Automated Information Network (MAINline.)

MAINline is currently accessible through Anonymous FTP and will soon
allow WWW and direct dial-in connections. The address of the MAINline
FTP access point is ftp.bentley.com and you can use your email address
as your password. Once connected, you will find the ISFF spec at
/pub/tools/docs/isff.txt

For developers that would like to access DGN files, we suggest the use
of the MicroStation Development Language (MDL) tools available directly
from Bentley Systems. These tools are included in every license of
MicroStation Version 5.

I hope this helps.
