sorry, your original message said c++. I don't know much about Delphi,
but can't you get the shapelib dll and link it into your application?

If you only need SHP file, and only point objects, I can provide you
with a subset of my SHPwriter library, written in Delphi. Just send me
an e-mail.

Uffe,

I too would also be interested in this. I only need to create POINT SHP
files with Delphi.

Cheers

Ian

If you work with DELPHI, there is a very good source for shapefiles. Look at
Ecological Software Solutions
(http://www.ecostats.com/software/shapeviewer/svobjectsdelphi.htm), they
have the source-code for a basic GIS in Delphi 5.(about 1,5 MB).
It also works with Delphi 4 if you make some changes. You can write and read
shp-files (point, line, polygon) and also read MIF.

thanks a lot uffe!

but your code dos'nt work propper

when i open the generated shape-files in arcview, i get the message
(translated) "count of shapes dos'nt match the count of table-entries" when
i open the dbase-file i only see fields generated but no records.

The problem (in D5) has been corrected and a new zip file is available:
www.routeware.dk/download/shpwriter.zip

The compiler in D6 and D7 is more forgiving on small errors !
