A cat5 network cable running under our floorboards has recently had a
very brief exposure to a blowtorch when our plumber was working on the
water pipes. There a couple of small black marks on the side of it,
but to my amazement, the cable still appears to work fine. Can anyone
suggest a simple way of giving the cable some more rigourous testing,
to make sure it is still reliable and not likely to corrupt data?
Many thanks.
