Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask. (Where better?)

I have a lot of circuit boards (examples: pci, isa, agp, sometimes
motherboards) which need to be stored without damage.

If they are put in a box, the boards on the bottom seem to get
damaged by the weight of the boards above. Also, I'd like to make
them resistant more than just the normal weight of boards above:
I'd like them to resist damage if there is an earthquake and
the box plunges to the ground.

Egg cartons? Wrapped in toilet paper? Saran wrap? Duct tape? :-)

So: How do you pack & store your boards? Obviously, anti-static
bags for each one (btw: what to do if boards>antistatic bags)?
But what else?

I'm told that they should be stored vertically, with edge contacts
down. Is that true?

TIA

In article <43b04610.04072...@posting.google.com>,

The last item is nutty.

Depending on what your definition of "lots" you can find a dealer of
generic boxes that the cheapo PCI cards come in. I've seen them for
sale by the hundred for a few cents each. If you feel the need you
can also but antistatic bags for a few cents each.

Talk to the store front system builders near you. A busy shop may
throw out a hundred boxes and antistatic bags a month. They may
charge a couple bucks or give them to you for free.
