We are looking for a talented, driven individual to lead the Human
Interfaces Group in the Planning and Execution Systems Section at the
NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory. This group is responsible for
designing and developing the software tools that mission control uses
to command our spacecraft (15 missions in all) and cutting-edge
research into the future of human-computer interaction for space
exploration. Projects underway in this group include the tool suite
responsible for controlling the Mars rovers, next generation cockpits
for teleoperation of robots, visualization of a multitude of data
received from our spacecraft, and using the Kinect to control
humanoids. The ideal candidate is an HCI-minded software expert who
has led development teams to build sophisticated, UI-intensive
applications, managed all of the details of a large project, and who
has an inspiring vision for the future of how people should control
complex systems. Pay is competitive and relocation to sunny Pasadena,
California is included.

Unfortunately, because of the nature of some of the work in the group,
we can only consider US Citizens or permanent residents (green card
holders).

If you're interested, you can find more details about the position and
apply here: http://bit.ly/zhtEDX Please also send your resume and
cover letter via email to me directly at jnorris (at) jpl.nasa.gov.
We're also looking for talented developers who might not quite be
ready to lead the group but who would love to join the team.

I hope to hear from you soon!
