I was wondering if anyone has tried the PTZ Camera they have at
http://www.ptz-camera.com ?
It seems very low priced for all the features. They also state that a lot of
DVR cards do not support the proper rs-485 Pelco P or Pelco D signals. Anyone
know if this is true?

The specs say, further on down that it's 27X optical, 10X digital.

Hey, I didn't say "buy from this guy!" ;-) Just that these cameras
couldn't be realistically compared to a $100 bullet cam in a $50 housing
because of their many top-of-the-line features.
Eric
I haven't tried one, but the price is so cheap it scares me a bit.
Pelcos are a LOT more as most folks know (I've used a bunch of
Spectras).
The low light support is very good at .01 lux.
Yes, it's true that many DVR cards do NOT support Pelco P or D. What
most folks do is to use a matrix switcher which are usually RS232
controlled and provide the interface. Some multiplexers do as well.
In addition, the controller they sell for $299 handles the protocols
and is a lot cheaper than the Pelco, particularly if you add the
joystick.
Some reasons to worry: They don't take credit cards and don't accept
returns AND they sell with NO WARRANTY. How do you know they are
legit? If you get a DOA, you're screwed. For that matter, with no
brand, how do you know the seller didn't just make up the specs?
We're supposed to just believe this guy? Whoever wrote the website
doesn't know how to spell. Actually, the more I read, the more it
sounds like a scam.
If you buy one, please let us know how you make out.

Not too expensive: under $200. You just need a PC with USB ports. If
you have internet, you can monitor your home while away, also.

The incessant animation on your site was so annoying that I had clicked off
before finding anything of interest. It is as amateurish and irritating as
the flashing CGA color graphics of the 1980's.

Ah, try Mozilla (http://www.mozilla.org/) and go into preferences.
There's an option to "run animation ONCE" that I live by.
(that an I disable flash in my day to day browser and when I need it,
I use a different one (safari)).
Animation and <BLINK> - you shouldn't have to deal with them in your life.

Where are you ordering your JVC cams?
