I am wondering what the best way to approach this is. My hope is to
eventually have a system such as the Russound PR4Z, but I don't want to be
locked into a specific system. Do most similar systems just require
standard cat5 to be run to the wall panels? Does speaker wire also run to
the wall panel or does speaker wire run from the wiring closet directly to
the speaker locations?
I also am concerned about the proximity of my cat5/speaker wire to the
high voltage line. My electrician will be doing his wiring before I am
able to do mine, and as electrical outlets tend to be at the same height
as my RG-6/cat5 outlets, how do I avoid interference? I assume it is a bad
idea to have a high voltage line anywhere near the low voltage wall jacks?
(I hear 2 feet is the absolute minimum).
Any suggestions are very much appreciated,
Sam
