Hi,

I am building a house and plan on distribute cable TV/DVD/IR as well
as modulates up to 4 CCTVs to 7 outlets. Here's what I'm planning to
do :

- one run of RG6 cable from wiring closet ( in basement ) to 7 rooms,
with the exception of media room ( 2nd floor ) which have 4 runs of
RG6.
- One Channel Plus 3445 with RF section sitting in the wiring closet,
modulator section in media room feeding in DVD and VHS signals to ch70
and 72, the use 1 run of RG6 in media room to connect the 2 sections,
and another run to feed cable signal to TV in media room;
- One Channel Plus 5445 sitting in wiring closet to feed 4 CCTV
signals into the system ( ch74, 76, 78, and 80 )
- The 2 spare RG6 between closet and media room is bridging potential
future 5th and 6th CCTV signals from wiring closet to the spare ports
in the above media room's 3445 modulator.
- One PF-470 low pass filter to block all cable channels above ch68
- Few IR emitters and targets

Can some experts in this Forum tell me if I am on the right track? One
of my friends suggest me to use a 5473 instead of 5445 but I can't
find any info on Channel Plus web site. Is there a better way to do
this? Does channelPlus has a comparable "All in 3" unit? Also,
regarding to CCTV, I have those Panasonic Micro Dome cam ( WV-BF202 )
in my mind but they are very expensive. Can someone suggest a good
quality color cam with a good resolution?

Also, what's the difference between 3445 and their digital model? our
cable provider in our area is talking about "Digital Cable". Anything
I should do differently for it if we switch to digital cable? TIA ..

Ya really need to check out the Home Director stuff. There is a base
model
that has the video amp/filter/distrib stuff laid out really well. Can
also add
telco and ethernet. See web page at htttp://wwww.homedirector.com
You can even add X-10 and other automation and security options...
