BSR (British Sound Recording, I think)) has been out of business for many
years. Drew Kaplan (do you remember the DAK catalogs?) bought the BSR
"name" but not the company. As I understand it, he used to buy quality
audio equipment from Japan/Taiwan/Korea/? and put the BSR nameplate on
them. The reason that BSR was on old X-10 modules was because Pico
Engineering and BSR were marketing partners in the mid-to-late '70's. One
of Pico's early projects (Experiment #8, I believe) was an IC chip to
control a programmable record changer for BSR. It was after that that
Pico Engineering began work on "Experiment #10", a method of sending
commands over existing electrical wiring. Experiment #10 was shortened to
"X-10".
Excuse me, I ramble on....
