hello all!

i've been reading through this newsgroup, it's sweet!

i'm trying to get a wireless doorbell to work in an office building. i've
tried the generic '150-200 foot' range doobies at my local home depot and
they are just BARELY out of range...

is there a solution out there for an extended range wireless doorbell? there
is no hard wired doorbell in place, and i would prefer if the doorbell
button itself kind of looked like a doorbell button rather than an x-10
transmitter or something...

any help is appreciated, thanks!

If you are willing to consider X10 ... is there some place within say 100'
where you could plug an X-10 wireless receiver into the power line? then
an X-10 based signal would be available anywhere there is power.

An alternative is to get an RF repeater that will rebroadcast the signal it
receives. That is a bit more expensive though.

hi MikeD, thanks for the response!

Yes, I am willing to use X10, and there is a place w/in 40' or so that i can
plug in a receiver.

I'm also willing to look at the RF repeater. I don't want to say that my
budget isn't limited, but if it is w/ in reason i still may go that route.
Can you recommend one or a site w/ one?

thanks, i look forward to your reply!

Check any of ... no all of the x-10 sites you can find. You never know what
you will find where ... but to get you started ...

www.smarthome.com www.x10.com are a couple of places to start. Others
could possibly suggest others.
