I've already bought one cheap pair that I regret, so part of me thinks I
should avoid the Radio Shack ones on price alone. Then again, they seem
good, with nice hinges.
Can anyone guide me on this? Or personal recommendations of either of
these products?
Regards,
Robert L Bass

Radio Shack will probably do for hex crimping. They're just a little wobbly
and don't do as consistent a crimp. But why not treat yourself to the stuff the
satellite guys (and the better cable TV guys) use - Snap-N-Seal:

Second that vote. The Rat Shack hex crimper works for typical homeowner
use but won't hold up in commercial use. But the first time I used a
Snap-N-Seal connector I realized that I never wanted to do another hex
crimp.

On the other hand, the stripping tool that radshack sells sucks.

Oh, yes! It goes so fast and they have the connectors for a fairly good
price too.

Definitely get a tool to put the connector on too. I got one from
Worthington that has a screwdriver handle and a thing in the end that
stretches the jacket and makes the connector go on much easier.
364346-01 Coax Flaring and Insertion Tool. Also about $12 for this one
.
The Snap and Seal is a neat new design if you are going to be doing a
lot of these it will save you a lot of headaches.
