Performa Home

[Frans Plugge]

Can anyone give me advice on the quality of the Model 5000 and service
offered by performa Home?

Also any comments relating to the use of their service and products
outside the US.

Don't do it! I have talked to five dealers nation-wide who bought into
Performa Home and TOTALLY regretted it. I was considering it and talked to
these people and the company itself.

What happens it you buy from Performa Home at their retail price. So, your
competition (independent installers) can sell their products at YOUR
wholesale price! And the equipment that you get with the $7000 package is
all outdated!

Just go it on your own. See the HOMETEAM.COM site for distributors and
technical help.

I looked into Performa Home and went many rounds with them on providing
convincing materials on Performa Home's products. I WANTED TO SEE A
PROMOTIONAL VIDEO OR OTHER MATERIALS WHICH DEMONSTRATED THE PRODUCT!!!

All I got was a high pressure sales pitch from MIKE, who bad mouthed the
competition (he about had a fit, when I mentioned Mastervoice
Butler-in-a-Box products!!).

I first got a pretty nice brochure and cassette tape, however I SAW NO
PRODUCT!! I just got a great sales pitch and motivational speach on home
automation. I finally argued enough with MIKE that he sent me a video,
but only on the promise that I would send it back to performa home. Well
the video was a bunch of poor home made video clips of how performa home
had made certain individuals rich??

STILL, I SAW NO PRODUCT! NOTHING BUT, I THINK, A SPECIAL PHONE. NO OTHER
MENTION OF THE EQUIPMENT THAT PROVIDED ALL THIS INCREDIBLE CONTROL!

MIKE never seemed to get the point that I wanted some reasonable
promotional and informational PROOF that performa had a good product
before I got on a plane or would give him ANY money.

Needless to say, I mailed the video back and never called or heard from
them since.
