My boss has purchased a Palm Pilot and EasySynch 3.0a software. Everything so
far works great for him when he synchs to his PC, but he would like to synch
direct to the Server when he is on the road. That way he can just take his
Palm and leave his laptop. I went to the EasySynch web site and it seemed to
say that you cannot directly sycnh with EasySynch to the server; you must
also have IBM Mobile Connect on the server side. Is this true? Anyone have
success with this?

Thanks.

First of all your boss should be able to sync with his PC. Let him leave his
PC on, Notes loaded (and in the preferences state that plug-ins can use the
login), declare in hotsync setup that this is the primary PC, and if
possible dial up into your LAN. If you can't dial into the LAN, hook his PC
up to a modem and call the modem.

Secondly, use PylonPro Server, which will allow him and otehrs to do the
same directly from the server.

Wait until EasySync Server comes out (sometime this year).

My boss has no problem synching with the PC. He wants to only take the
Palm with him on trips and synch directly with the server using the
modem he has with his palm.

When is EasySynch Server coming out? Any web page links to it?

Thanks,

Bryan

Brian,

The syncing with a PC, I meant via dialup. That's what I do. I leave the PC
in the office, turned on, notes running, and I dial up into our global
network, establish a TCP session with my PC and sync !! Works like a charm !

The EasySync Server version was mentioned during a meeting with the folks at
Lotus, and definite timeframe, but hopefully this year (famous last words).
