I am the manager of a database that has 100 replicas on local user's
laptops. There are readers fields in the database, so that when a user
replicates the database, they only get the documents they need. It
works great.

From time to time I need to work on a user's database using my ID, but
I can't because it says that I am not authorized. I am the manager of
the database, for Christ's sake. This is really a big pain in the but.
How can I access these databases, or can I?

Bryan

you enforced the acl, i don't think groups work locally, try putting
your name in the acl, i presume its not already there

Ok I will try that. But Groups should work locally. I think that bug
was fixed in 5.0x.

I do have cascading address books.

Maybe create a user role and give yourself the role as a [Admin] or
something to that effect. Alittle programing or add the user role to an
authors field on the form

James,

I have already done that. The problem is that Notes won't use groups
locally. I tried putting my name in the ACL explicitly and this worked.
Sounds like a bug in Notes.
