Hi there,

I've developed a database which acts as an extended address book to
store contact information as well as some work-flow stuff. How do I go
about enabling this on the server for address look-up's and name
resolution.

I've got it added to the list of the appropriate AddressBooks entry in
the notes.ini file on the server. So it's now coming up when you click
on the Address... button on an email.

When you add a user to the To... list then the address is correctly
resolved from the new database (using the ($PersonGroupsFlat) view). It
is also successfully auto-completing a user's name by looking up this
database. However when you send the email to a user which has had its
name auto-completed it fails to find the name in any of the address
books.

My guess is that I don't have the correct views configured in the new
database to enable name look-ups. I've got the following ones configured
based upon those in the Public AddressBook template and the Private
AddressBook template:

($PeopleGroupsFlat)
($PeopleGroupsHier)
($People)
($VIMGroups)
($VIMPeopleAndGroups)
($VIMPeopleByLastName)
($VIMPeople)

Does anyone know if I'm missing something? Answers by email would be
gratefully received.

Thanks in advance.

I have a similar address book at my company. Here's what I did, which works
very well.

Created a database on the server based on the Notes46 personal address book.
Deleted all the forms, subform, and shared fields that were not required for
the Person form. That is, connection, groups, location forms.

You can also delete/modify any of the visible views. Don't delete or modify
any of the hidden views. (viewname), etc.

You can add other fields to the person form, but many of the fields on the
person form are required for addressing mail.

btw, if you have Lotus Organizer GS and don't make extreme changes to the
Person form, you can add this address book as another tab in Organizer. You
can then print Avery labels with Organizer, reading your address book on the
server! This is the main reason we purchased organizer, which I find very
funny.

Anyway, you get the idea.
