Is it me or do agents not fire when new mail is received?

I have an agent set up to do some filtering, but it won't run on new mail, i
don't get it? is this a bug?

When you select the agent, there is an option to select when to run, i.e.,
when mail has arrived.

It takes a few minutes before scheduled agents kick off. So, once the new
mail arrives, it may take, say, 5 minutes before the mail runs.

When you enable the agent on the server, make sure that your current
location document says that the server is your home mail server (you can
change this in the location document temporarily if it is not).

Is there anyway to avoid this delay?

Allegedly R5 reverts to the R3 mail-triggered agent behavior (i.e.
triggering immediately). I haven't tested it, but so I've been told.

I've had the same thing...
Not only delay, the agent ran once every 24 hrs or so.
There is a parameter you can put in the Notes.ini (Server) to make
sure it did check for skipped or missed triggers. It's called
AMGR_UntriggeredMailInterval, values 1 to 1440 minutes. Default 60
minutes.
And of course, check for the don'ts for mail triggered agents (rights,
Lookups etc...)
Hope this helped,
Maarten
