How can I pass a view selection parameter from form

I have created a view and want to open a view with ONLY a subset of the
view showing. You can choose this subset with selection formula but I
don't know how to pass it the parameter "dynamically."

I open a form with a reference number on the page and want to view, in a
view, all documents with that reference number. So, I need to pass it
the reference number without hard coding it in the view selection
formula.

You probably want to set a field on the form and have the view select
on that field.
