I'm searching for the best way to export the fields in a document to Word.
This must be done, standing in the document in read-mode...
Is it better to make a file first and then merge in Word, or is there a
direct way, which works faster?

I wonder if you could use the OLE support in Notes 4? The Notes FAQ
that another article in this groupr referred to, at
http://www.keysolutions.com/NotesFAQ, had a handy article on using OLE
to populate a cell in Excel. But, I think Word exposes few functions to
OLE, compared to Excel or Access. The LotusScript browser should give
you a list of OLE classes on your machine, and the properties and
methods you can manipulate.

At a much coarser level, you could just cut and paste the entire
document into a new Word document. But, the result usually isn't very
attractive!

Have a look at website WWW.DOCUMENTAAL.COM and read about BowTie for
MS Word.

With 'Search&Fill' and AutoFill' you can polulate MS Word documents
with Notes data....
