While I was doing the design for a new database I moved a few fields
in the forms design pane using CTRL+C - CTRL+V (copy and paste...)
after wich I deleted the original field and renamed the new one. This
was quite stupid (should have used CTRL+X instead...), as I now have
copies of various fields in my database. These fields are not used in
any of the documents (I'm sure of that because I've deleted all the
documents... Extreme Frustration brings fourth Extreme Measures...),
and they are not visibly present in any of my forms, but they are
still there! When I visualize the properties for my forms (Fields
tab...) I can still see them. How must I do to delete them definitely
from the database? ARRRGHHH!!
Thank you in advance,

Our general plan is to copy and paste the entire form to a new database.
It seems to get rid of the phantom fields. It would be nice to have a
definitive procedure.

Try writing an agent using script. You can easily delete test to see if
the field value is null and if so, delete it from the document.

Hi there,

If the fields are still present in old documents, they'll show up in the
list of fields. I've noticed that some old legacy fields tend to stay
around until one compacts the database.

have you tried compacting the database?

This is an issue with Lotus. We have tried everything to get the fields to
disappear and nothing worked. We contacted Lotus and they are working on
it (so they say). It is a bug that they have acknowledged.
