Preview pane triggers QueryOpen?

Hello All,

I have inherited a lotus notes project (not a lotus developer myself)
which queries mail object for a specific property in our custom class
and displays the item (a voicemail message) in our custom form. This
worked like a charm in the past before the 8.0/8.5 preview pane.

Now the problem is that the custom form launch whenever the user
single clicks or arrows over the message (correct behavior should
launch the custom form on a double click or enter).

I don't know enough about lotus to understand if there is a new
message other that QueryOpen that I should be looking for or if there
is a property to tell me that this is a 'preview' event and not a real
open.

Can anyone explain this to me or point me at a resource which will
explain the 'preview event' difference from the 'open' event.
