I'm using 4.6.4 and find that the FT Index of a database regularly becomes
corrupted i.e. it grows very large and when I do a complex search it shows
many duplicate records in the resulting view. When I delete the FT and
recreate it not only does this solve the problem but the FT shrinks to a
fraction of it's previous size i.e. from 50 Meg to 400k!!!
I want to run a scheduled agent each night that will delete and recreate the
FT index. I have found the script that allows me to create a FT but there
appears to be no command to destroy one. I've tried to shell to DOS on a PC
and ran a DOS command that deleted the FT sub directory which worked OK on
the local machine but I can't get to work on the AS/400 server due to
sharing violation - any ideas.

Thanks,

Kevin

There is a server command that will do what you need:

Load updall THEDATABASE.NSF -X

Set it up as a scheduled program in the name and address book. It deletes and
recreates the FT index. See the administration help database for more details.

This technote explains the problem (unwrap the URL to make it work):
