Hello,

I'm having problems retrieving messages from my ISP's popserver.
I have different mailboxes with different usename/passwords. It is obvious
to me that
this is the cause of the problem since trying to retrieve messages from
ONE mailbox
works fine. My question is if anyone knows a workaround for this problem.
By the way I am using Notes Client version 5.05.

Thanks in advance.

What exactly are you trying to do? Do you have multiple POP accounts
at one ISP? Do you also have multiple account documents in your PNAB
to download them? If this is the case I wonder if the problem is that
your ISP's server won't let you log out and right back in with another
username/ID?

I have multiple pop accounts at one ISP. The problem occurs after creating
the second account document. Creating a second account document for a
pop account at a different ISP is not a problem. I wonder the problem
exists on the ISP site because other mail clients do not cause
this problem.

I just noticed this too. I cannot get more than 1 account on the same
POP mail server to work - it won't even create the additional entry on
the replicator page. Multiple accounts as such work OK.

I ended up with all accounts returning the POP3 protocol error but I
deleted all entries from the replicator tab and the accounts and
recreated them. I'm left with just one account giving the error now.

I just found a workaround.

it really seems to be the server name which causes the problem.
so if your pop3 server name is pop.isp.com, use just isp.com as the
server name in the other pop account document.
it worked for me.
of course your ISP must configured his mail server to work this way.

Unfortunately this workaround does not work for me. The error
I get here is: host name is unknown.
Additionately I tried (on suggestion of my ISP) to activate
the SMTP protocol in order to retrieve messages, but also
no luck on that.

so your ISP doesn't have an alternate name for your mailserver.
bad luck. (or try with mail.isp.com)

SMTP is for sending mails, this won't work for you...

The problem is different. Even if You have configured the POP3 account
correctly, it will not work sometimes. In the ISP logs there is written,
that you have written a wrong password!
