Hi everyone....My notes database is corrupt and I'm looking for some
suggestions on how to fix it. This has never happened before and I'm
looking for some general guidelines and names of utilities to use.
Any advice would be greatly appreicated.

Thanks in advance ...Brequet

The first tool you can use is in server administration, in database tools.
Highlight your corrupt database and run dbfixup on it.

another way you may be able to get it back is to run fixup, compact and updall
at the server console

fixup attempts to fix the database, compact removes unused space, and updall
will rebuild your views

Couple of things to try:
1. An administrator can run the fixup utility on your mail database,
at a console window or on the server itself run 'load fixup path\name'
where path is the path to the mail database and name is the name of the
database.
- or -
2. Have had luck with copying the database to the local client then
copying back to the server. Sometimes this is tricky because of
security on the server.

Hope this helps, if not let me know may have a few more tricks up my
sleeve!!

How to fix a database that is corrupted but the database is not in the
server and you can't place the database in the server ?

Can you run fixup, compact, and updall on Notes client?

If your database is not completely corrupted. U can try Compact and then
Ctrl+Shift+F9 to update all index. OR You can try to replicate the
database locally.

Yoo can compact from the workspace, bting up the properties box and
compact in on the "info" tab (I think).
I'm pretty sure that updall gets installed on clients, look for
"nupdal.exe" in your Notes directory. You can open up a DOS window
and type "nupdal <Filename>" and updall will work.
I don't think that fixup is installed in clients by default, but you
can copy "nfixup.exe" from a server to your Notes program director and
run it in a DOS window as well.

Updall is installed on all clients but you cannot just run the program from
does, it will not work.
In the database you would like to run updall on, then press ctrl-shift-F9,
this will run updall.

running nupdall from the dos window will only work on the server
