I need to change the Domino Server name and the Domain name. Am running
4.6a on NT 4.0. Can't find any help on this. Can anyone point me in the
right direction?

Would like to this with the least disruption to the users. :)

Thanks

Changing the domain is much easier/less disruptive than changing the
server name. Basically you just need to go through the NAB and change the
domain throughout, then change the server's Notes.ini to the new domain.
You should change the workstations to match the new domain, but they will
function without making that change.

Changing server names means lots of disruption to the end users , since
their workspace icons and location documents, connections, etc. will all
have to be changed. It's probably easier to set up a second server and
migrate people over to that server, then shut down the first one.

Create a private view in the PAB with all documents in it then create an
agent to change all the fields "Domain" to the new domain - there is a
technote about this somewhere in the kuhnowledge base.

Don't forget to change the notes.ini of your servers also. I did this
a couple years ago when were first setting up our international notes
network. We had several domains like USA, Australia, France, UK and
after we realized the problem we would have with cascading NAB's we
all changed to the company name. I spent an hour or two with our 1
server changing the domain name in the NAB and copying people into the
common NAB then changed all instances of USA to the company name in
the notes.ini.
