ANNOUNCEMENT and CALL FOR PAPER
-------------------------------
ICCG93
International Conference on Computer Graphics:
Interaction, Design, Modelling and Visualization

February 22-26, 1993
Bombay, India

organised by
International Federation for Information Processing(IFIP):
TC5 - WG5.2 & WG5.10
Computer Society of India (CSI)

CONFERENCE THEMES AND TOPICS

Computer Graphics is continuously evolving to higher levels of
creative accomplishments and technological sophistications with
newer concepts, techniques and ever increasing spectrum of
applications. Present day computing is steered by interaction to
desired computational results that are more often communicated
visually rather than just in print. The main goal of ICCG93 is to
provide an international forum for the presentation and discussion
of recent developments in Computer Graphics and CAD through
tutorials, contributed and invited papers, and case studies in
graphics systems and applications. The conference will focus on
three main themes with a number of related topics to each of those
themes.

CONFERENCE THEMES

Graphical Interaction

Design and Modelling

Rendering and Visualization

CONFERENCE TOPICS

Graphics and geometric algorithms

Modelling curves, surfaces, solids and volumes

Physically based modelling

Interactive design and user interfaces

Computer animation and visual simulation

Global illumination and photorealistic rendering

Scientific and multi-dimensional data visualization

Image handling and interchange standards

Graphics systems and architectures

Innovative applications of graphics

CALL FOR PAPERS

ICCG93 solicits original papers which either report new work,
survey or review emerging trends, or detail innovative
applications. Papers should relate to one of the conference topics

the tutorial programme. These will be given by leading
professional development in computer graphics and related areas.
These are planned at an intermediat level to benefit a broad range
of audience. Full day tutorials are offered on the following four
topics :

Computer Animation

Solid Modelling

User Interface

Image Synthesis

EXHIBITION

The computer graphics exhibition during ICCG93 is aimed at
providing a meeting ground for graphics systems and solution
vendors, developers, researchers and end users to exchange ideas,
information and application needs. The exhibition will run three
full days of the conference during which leading vendors are
expected to display and demonstrate the state of the art products
and services. For further information please contact the
Organising Committee Chairperson.

VENDOR PRESENTATIONS

A number of presentations by vendors on their latest graphics/CAD
hardware and software systems are planned. These will provide an

ABOUT BOMBAY

Bombay is the capital of Maharashtra state and the business
capital of India. It is the fastest moving, most affluent and most
industrialised city in India. The main languages spoken in the
city are Hindi (official language of India) and Marathi (official
language of Maharashtra state). Visitors can manage their
business/travel with English which is also widely understood and
spoken.

February marks the fag end of Bombay's short mild winter spell.
The normal temperature during this period ranges between 21 to 31
degrees Celsius (70-80 F).

This is also the peak tourist season in and around Bombay with
attractions like Elephanta Caves, Elephanta Music and Dance
Festival and music concerts. Regular tours from the city provide
easy access to the ancient cave paintings and sculptures of Ajanta
and Ellora. The famed golden beaches of Goa are an hours flight
away from Bombay with February being the carnival season there.
Bombay also boasts of number of street shopping malls with Fashion
Street being the most popular among them for good bargains in rich
Indian cotton garments. For those with heart for topsy-turvy
adventures, Bombay offers an exciting entertainment park along the
beautiful Gorai Beach.
