Hello everyone that reads this, how are you?

I'm completely new to 3d modelling and 3d Studio max and haven't a clue
where to start.

Could any one please let me know where I can find some good tutorials aimed
at beginners to help me learn how to use the software

Cheers
Pat

books that you received with max are good solution
if you want to start

also use help that comes with the max

and you could take a look of many tutorials
on www.3dcafe.com and many other 3d sites
on the net (just type words like 3d, max, 3d graphics,
and similar in some search engine)

Hi Patrick,

The help files within max are pretty helpful, thought you might find
printing them out a bit easier, that way you can work full screen as you
follow the tutorials.
You'll get a hard time here if they think you're running a cracked copy, and
asking totally basic questions is one way of indicating you dont have the
manuals...:-) (The best way to make friends is to ask how to crack character
studio -not!)
I like to think that maybe people will get hold of a cracked copy, and then
find out if they will really get into 3d work. When you find yourself making
money at it, go buy a copy, cause that's when you'll need the support of
your local dealer!
Anyhow, with Max I think you've made the right choice. It may seem a little
daunting at first, but if you have basic computer skills you'll soon be
creating good stuff!

there are a load of good tutorials here...

best of luck!

by far the best beginners book for Max
3.X is "3DStudio Max R3 In Depth,"
by Rob Polevoi. I was about to throw
in the towel using 2.5 and the New
Riders Max books, now I've removed
the Truespace 4 shortcut from my
desktop and use Max for everything
3D.
