Dear Kinetix,

Now that the word is out about 3D MAX v.1.1,
could you please inform your 3D MAX users? I find nothing about this
on your web site. or recieced no news letter. I had to find out about
it through Digimation, and even more info from a user on this news group,
who had just recieved his copy via UPS. There are curious users out here
including myself who feel left in the dark......some Q/A's might be nice.

What new features it has?

How do we get it?

When will we get it?

Do we have to pay for it?

Ya know, stuff like that!...so what I'm going to do now is try and help my
fellow MAX users, and answer some of these questions myself.
"ONLY FROM WHAT I KNOW" "AND THIS IS ALL I KNOW"

Some new features it has?..Relax, Mesh Smooth, Bevel, and Stretch are the
new modifiers.

How do we get it?..........I'm guessing, since we are a regestard user it
will be sent as soon as possible.

When do we get it?.........When a UPS guy comes to your door at 9:00am while
your still sleeping because of another all-nighter
with MAX.

Do we have to pay for it?..Not unless that UPS guy wants a black eye!

Thank you, for your time.

Sincerely,
Mike Malloy

"Oh yah" I almost forgot, Im on the news group!

SSSSSSSSsssssee Ya........Viper Mike!

Well, assuming they are your dealer, that is the proper way....

Some of the new features/enhancements/plug-ins MAX 1.1 has include:

.dwg import/export, Stretch, Wood, Dents, Sound Controller,
Combustion, MeshSmooth, Relax, Bevel, Geo Sphere, Path Deform,
and Reset Xform, and misc. bug fixes.

Also included:
MAX SDK
Character Studio (live demo version)
Redesigned network renderer

>How do we get it?

It should be sent to all registered users.

(If you just recently registered, you might have to ask your dealer or
call customer service.)

>When will we get it?

As you have mentioned, some people are already receiving theirs.

>Do we have to pay for it?

Nope.

I've also heard that it has more robust support for WIN95?? is this true
(you can give an off-the-record answer Brian Rudolf, we won't quote
you!)

Well......O.K.

My understanding is that some of the bugs people had encountered in
WIN95 and reported to Kinetix have been fixed. I am not sure which
ones.

This means it should run a little better, but Kinetix is not claiming
_compatability_ with WIN95.

WIN95 is still an unsupported platform. Kinetix just happened to fix a
few bugs that it knew about for people that are using it anyway.

that is they way I understand it...

Brian,
I am thinking about buying a Quad-Pentium Pro 200 and I was wondering how it would
perform and if you can run the rendering in the background while still modeling? Also,
would it be better to buy two dual P6s or one quad P6? Thanks.

In article <320A3D...@mail.ic.net>, e...@mail.ic.net says...

3.8 times the speed of one PP 200 was recorded by a NETPOWER Calisto

and if you can run the rendering in the background while still modeling?

don't know

Also, >would it be better to buy two dual P6s or one quad P6? Thanks.
