Hi everyone!

I need a little help. I am working on some international graphics and
have to put some european characters (a with dot/s ect..) anyway, I
don't have a european keyboard, so I don't know how to type in the
special letter. (Languages are Finnish, Swedish, French...)

I think there are keyboard shortcuts, but don't know what they are or
where to look them up. Can I do it? Do I need special font?

I am using Photoshop 6

Thanks!
Otaku Girl

If these are displayed by your newsreader or text processor, you might
try to copy and paste them ;-)

In Windows they are accessed using the alt key plus the numeric keypad.
You can show the Character Map (look under "Accessories > System Tools"
from your Start menu). If you click on a character, it displays the
corresponding numbers.

If you keep the Character map open but minimized, you'll have quick
access to it. Eventually, you'll remember the shortcuts...

If you are running Windows, use the Character Map app. This is not part of
the default inststallation of Windows, but it is on the Windows CD-ROM. Open
the Control Panel, and double-click on 'Add/Remove Programs'. When this
opens, click on the Windows Setup tab, and highlight 'System Tools'; then
click on 'Details'. Make sure 'Character Map' is checked, and the Windows CD
is in the drive, and click on 'OK'.
The Macintosh has a similar app called 'Key Caps'. I don't know if you have
to specifically install it; it's been there on every Mac I've ever used.
In both, you can copy special (non-keyboard) characters, and paste them into
your document.

Hi,

If you are on Windows, most of those characters can be produced if you
set your keyboard to United States International. This makes 'dead
keys' of "'", "^","`" etc. If you press any of those keys it waits for
the second key and if this is a vowel it prints á, è etc.

Or

Use Alt + Keycode
