Hello,

I have Photoshop 5.5 installed on a PC with Windows NT. There is a
problem with the Alt key within Photoshop. None of the tools respond
when I use the Alt key to modify their function. For example, the
selection tools do not work at all when I try to use Alt to subtract
from the current selection. In other words, the rubber stamp,
selection, and any other tools that require the use of the Alt key are
currently useless. I can, however, use the Alt key to access menus, for
example Alt+F to get the file menu. The Alt key also works for keyboard
shortcuts, for example Alt+Ctrl+X opens the Extract dialog. Note that
the Shift and Ctrl keys work fine - it's only Alt that has the problem.

Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions, other than
reinstalling the application? (I'm on a network and the administrator
would have to do it) All help appreciated.

-Thanks, Mike P.
